FAQs

A death doula, also known as an end-of-life doula, is a non-medical professional who provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and families during the dying process. They help create a peaceful and meaningful end-of-life experience.

Just as birth doulas support birthing a new life, death doulas supports ones that are leaving this life; proving a presence, companionship, advocacy, and education.

"The Doula Experience" is a holistic service provider focused on supporting individuals and families through the end-of-life journey.  With a deep emphasis on compassion, dignity, and respect, the organization offers a wide range of services tailored to meet unique needs during one of life’s most challenging transitions.

The Doula Experience seeks to demystify and normalize end-of-life discussions and to provide personalized care that empowers individuals and families.  The goal is to ensure that everyone has the tools and support needed to plan, navigate, and find peace in their final chapters.

While hospice care provides medical support and pain management, a death doula offers additional emotional, spiritual, and practical support. This includes spending more time with the patient, creating personalized care plans, and providing continuous companionship.

Our services include:

  2. Practical Assistance: Help with daily tasks, coordinating with hospice providers, guided meditation, and facilitating legacy projects that preserve meaningful memories.
  3. Specialized Offerings: Green burial consulting, natural deathcare and after death care education, vigils, and support for family-led funerals
  4. Insurance options (Preneed and Repatriation insurance)
  5. Memorial event planning (PrePass, RePass, AnnuMorials)
  6. Bereavement Travel Assistance
  7. Respite Care
  8. Notary Services
