Your Community Death Care Liaison

At The Doula Experience, we serve as a Community Death Care Liaison, bridging the gap between families, care providers, and essential end-of-life services. In this role, we provide compassionate, culturally competent, and holistic guidance through every stage of death care—from diagnosis to disposition and beyond.

As your liaison, we demystify death, advocate for dignity, and restore community-centered practices around dying, death, and grief. Our mission is rooted in accessibility, equity, and education—ensuring that every individual and family, regardless of background or income, receives support to navigate the practical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of end-of-life.

Our Role Includes:

• Coordination of Services: Helping families understand and access hospice, funeral homes, home death care, life insurance, and legal documentation.
• Community Education: Hosting workshops, lunch & learns, and death literacy events to empower individuals with knowledge about their rights, options, and resources.
• Grief & Legacy Support: Offering bereavement services, legacy project facilitation, and memorial planning—including Pre-Pass, Repass, and Annu-Morial events.
• Equity & Access Advocacy: Working with underserved communities, ensuring they are not left behind in end-of-life planning, including navigating Medicaid spend-down, viatical settlements, and travel repatriation.
• Policy & Practice Consulting: Assisting workplaces, housing authorities, and care facilities in developing death-informed protocols and policies that center compassion, communication, and proactive planning.
